This party was for my niece who turned 8 and she chose a Paris theme because she’s in the French Immersion program at school and just loves anything Paris related right now. I love the color scheme she chose – pink, yellow and gold. A break from the traditional pink and black Paris themed parties you typically see.
The dessert table was set up against a fun brick wall in the kitchen. A large heart made from small light yellow colored tissue poms was placed in the center of the wall – such a fun, feminine touch!
Beautiful and delicious desserts included eclairs (of course!), frosted sugar cookies, cupcakes with beautiful yellow, pink & gold fondant toppers and gorgeous cream puffs shaped like swans – aren’t they fabulous?!
A pink ceramic pitcher filled with beautiful light yellow roses was another favorite element of the dessert table.
Party decor included a darling banner with the birthday girl’s name, small hanging poms and then I love the large poms that hung over the activity tables, which were made by stringing 3 sizes of tissue poms together.
Beautiful white hydrangeas and some other fun touches.
The matching water bottle labels are a must have!
Guests took home nail polish and socks in a cute pink container tied with a coordinating favor tag.
The Ooh La Love printed party materials can be purchased from Hostess Ink.

]]>Today I’m sharing a Winter Wonderland birthday party I put together for a client whose daughter was turning 9. The party was held at a local ice rink so all the girls ice skated and had a great time! The color scheme we chose was aqua, silver and white – perfect for a winter wonderland party.
To welcome all the guests to the party, I had an easel displaying this welcome sign to direct them to the party room. I forgot to take a picture of the large sign, but here’s what it looked like.
In the party room we had a long island where all the food, desserts and a hot cocoa bar were set up. In the center of the island I placed a glass vase filled with aqua and silver ornaments. White tree branches with silver and aqua snowflakes were placed in the vase for some height.
A small cake and chocolate cupcakes in coordinating aqua, silver and white were served to the guests.
I used my Silhouette machine to create a snowflake banner that said “Hailey’s Winter Wonderland” which was strung across the front of the island.
A hot cocoa bar was set up for the girls to warm up with after the ice skating activity. Kraft covered drinking cups were embellished with ribbon and snowflake stickers. The girls could choose from mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, crushed peppermint and Pirouette cookies to add to their hot cocoa. Little tags were added to the wooden scoops for an extra touch.
The birthday girl requested a chocolate fountain that grandma had and the girls could choose different fruits and cookies to dip into the fountain – they loved this!
Each of the guests took home a white mug filled with a packet of hot cocoa, taffy and a chocolate dipped spoon.
Here’s a picture of the chocolate dipped spoons before they were packaged up and placed in the favor bags.

]]>I’m excited to share another one of the fun parties I planned last month – a Rubber Ducky birthday party for a sweet little 5 year-old girl who LOVES rubber duckies!
To welcome the little girls to the party, I decorated the front door with hanging rubber ducky printable signs.
As guests arrived they were directed to the activity table where we had set up some crayons and coloring pages to keep them busy until everyone arrived. They also painted individual rubber duckies to take home with them.
The birthday girl’s mom informed me that her daughter loved polka dots in addition to rubber duckies, so I made sure there were plenty of polka dot elements throughout the party including the paper dots for a simple table runner, and lots of polka dot balloons (which I managed to take NO pictures of!).
The cake table was also scattered with polka dots and the fun yellow feather boas just added to the decor.
The cake was probably my favorite! I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it and those little fondant duckies were so stinkin’ cute!
The little girls also played a rubber ducky matching game and these darling yellow duck candies were their prizes.
The party favors included a rubber ducky (of course!), a swirly lollipop stick, a duck eraser, bubbles with a matching printable wrapper, and personalized rubber ducky lip gloss. Everything was placed in these darling bathtubs I found in the dollar spot at Target with cotton balls as the filler.
A rubber ducky party would be a great theme for a baby shower or 1st birthday party as well. For more Rubber Ducky party ideas, visit my Rubber Ducky Pinterest Board!

]]>Happy Friday everyone! I have another party to share with you today so I guess I’ll call this ‘featured party week’ – yay!! Today’s party is a pretty pink princess party that my sister-in-law created for her daughter turning 7. That was her daughter’s exact request – a pretty pink princess party – love it!!
Pink decorations and accents were used throughout the party area, including the activity table where the girls made beaded bracelets, played a game and ate their yummy treats. This fun pink patterned wrapping paper was used as a table runner set on top of a white vinyl tablecloth.
She made pink and silver tissue tassels that hung from the fun extra large balloons for centerpieces.
Folding chairs were covered with white vinyl and adorned with a darling pink tulle bow – genius!
The mantle was accessorized with several pink elements including the tissue tassel garland, mirror, decoupaged square vase and more!
Tulle and tissue paper poms were also hung to decorate the party area.
As the girls arrived at the party, they were, of course, drawn to the beautiful dessert table. A pink glittered skirt was added to the base of the dessert table for a little extra princessy flair.
Above the table hung a collection of tissue poms and lanterns. The entire table was also draped with pretty pink tulle. Absolutely fit for a princess!
At the center of the dessert table was the beautiful pink cake perfectly adorned with a pink crown and matching pink bow.
And the darling matching cupcakes.
The girls were just amazed that they could eat the WHOLE cupcake – silver balls on the crowns and all!
Other pink treats included homemade pink oreos, caramel dipped marshmallows, pink snowballs, heart cakes and a variety of coordinating candy.
For favors each of the girls got to take home a darling pink necklace that my sister-in-law made.
Thanks so much Adriane for letting me share your beautiful party with my readers!!

She used ruffled fabric ordered from rufflefabric.com as the backdrop for the dessert table – perfect for a princess party!
She also draped a sheer pink fabric gilded with pink beads to incorporate the “princess” part of the table. Lanterns and the purple and pink banner where hung to add touches of the Tangled sun element.
At the center of the dessert table was a delicious pina colada cake, along with strawberry cupcakes, kiss me frog sugar cookies, magical pineapple strands of golden hair and candy rock wands.
Guests were able to adorn their princess hats and crowns with beautiful jewels!
Debbie has 3 matching invitations that coordinate perfectly with the rest of the printable party elements!

]]>This post is way overdue, but I’m finally posting pics of the Circus Birthday Party that my amazing sister in law created for her daughter turning 6 last year. She always comes up with the cutest decorating ideas and fun activities!
This cute printable sign welcomed the sweet little guests.
All of the party areas were decorated to look like a real circus tent – so fun! She used plastic tablecloths to create the red and white big top and other party stations.
When the girls arrived at the party, they were given a bucket to collect their tickets from the various games. There were some fun, circus games such as fishing, bean bag toss, darts and more. The girls received tickets from the games and after they all played, they were able to redeem their tickets for prizes from the fun prize board!
After all the games and prizes, a face painter came and painted all the girls’ faces – they were so adorable!
Then it was time to enjoy all the fun treats from the dessert table!
Perfect centerpieces – a basket of peanuts.
All the girls had a fabulous time at the party!

]]>I’m finally sharing pics from the Sweet 16 party I created for a client earlier this year. Cute Mary requested an ‘Under The Stars’ theme for her Sweet 16 party using navy, silver and white for her color scheme. The party was held in a neat old building that used to be party of an army base. I love the dark wood beams across the ceiling and original wood floor. Mary invited some of her closest friends to help celebrate her special day with her.
As guests arrived, they were asked to ‘Make a Wish Upon a Star’ for Mary’s birthday where they wrote her a special note on sparkling stars with sharpie markers (thanks for the idea, Kris from Celebrations At Home). Later, Mary can tie them together with some cute ribbon for a wonderful keepsake from her birthday party.
A photoboth was set up using a blue sheer curtain I found at IKEA with silver stars hanging in the background. In addition to glasses, masks and hats we had on hand, I created props with my Silhouette and attached them to dowels for the girls to have some fun with. Mary also wanted a caricature artist for another activity the girls could participate in – what a fun idea!
The main party area was decorated with twinkling lights, and blue, white and silver stars hung from the ceiling above the eating area. Silver balloons covered the ceiling in the room where the buffet was set up.
Additional decor included pretty white flowers on the seating tables which were covered with blue satin tablecloths and scattered with silver stars. I hung a Happy Sweet 16 birthday banner from the fireplace in the large party room.
A dinner buffet and some delicious desserts were served to the guests. I added printed wrappers to water bottles and set out some blue and white straws embellished with a washi tape flag to go with their drinks.
At the center of the dessert table was a beautiful blue cake decorated with silver stars and the number 16. All sorts of silver, white and blue candy was displayed along with chocolate and vanilla cake pops for the girls to take home as party favors.
The girls all had a fabulous time and Mary had a wonderful Sweet 16 party she’ll always remember!

]]>My daughter’s birthday is at the end of August, right before school starts and with her being in Kindergarten this year, we decided to wait and have her 5th birthday party a little bit later so that we could invite all of her new school friends. Just as we started to plan her party, I received the opportunity to participate in a promotion for the new Barbie movie, The Princess & The Popstar. My daughter LOVES anything Barbie, so the decision about what kind of party we should have was too easy!
I recruited Debbie from Wants & Wishes Design to design the invitation and all of the other party printables for our party. She was AMAZING and captured my vision for the party perfectly! It all started with these cool “backstage pass” invitations, which all the girls (and mom’s) absolutely loved…I got tons of compliments on how fun and cute they were!
As the girls arrived at the party, they were directed to a seat at the table where some Barbie coloring pages and a box of crayons was waiting for them. The crayons were covered in matching scrapbook paper and a 2″ party circle. Little girls this age LOVE to color so this was the perfect activity for them while we waited for all of the guests to arrive.
I used silver stars I bought at a local party supply store to serve as a table runner and then added a glass jar full of pop star sunglasses and a tray of little pink and white boxes. They all took home a pair of glasses as part of their favors and the little striped boxes held necklaces we made.
After everyone arrived, the girls ate a snack which consisted of a sandwich, strawberry yogurt, a fruit cup and drinks. The party was held right after school so I wanted them all to have a healthy snack before we dove into all the sweets
I added more 2″ party circles to the fruit cups to dress them up a bit.
While we were waiting for all the girls to finish eating their snack, they were able to play with the new Barbie characters in the movie, Tori and Keira along with the Barbie The Princess & The Popstar Music & Lights Castle. They were all so cute and absolutely loved playing with the new dolls and castle. They especially liked how the stairs in the castle lit up when you walk on them and then you push a little button and a snippet from the theme song plays.
After our snack, we gathered up our popcorn and candy to watch the movie. The girls could choose from strawberry, grape, or white chocolate popcorn and then they filled their bags with all sorts of fun candy to munch on while enjoying the show.
As you can tell, they totally enjoyed the movie and looked so cute wearing their princess crowns, eating their yummy treats.
Now it was time for cake, cupcakes & ice cream. My sweet friend Ashlee from I’m Topsy Turvy created THE MOST AMAZING cake for the party! I told her it was a Barbie Princess & The Popstar party and that I thought it would be cool to have a guitar cake and this is what she came up with. I was seriously floored. It was so cool and the girls thought it was the neatest thing!
I didn’t want to cut the cake, but Madi insisted. It was chocolate flavor inside and it was delicious! We also had vanilla cupcakes with cute toppers for those who didn’t want chocolate cake.
I saw these darling microphone cupcakes here on The Baking Spot and attempted some of those for the party as well. They turned out okay, but not as cute as the professionals.
The girls went home with a favor box that I embellished with bright pink ribbon and a large round sticker favor tag that Debbie created. Inside the box was a Barbie Princess & The Popstar fairy doll, sunglasses, a tiara, crayons, bottle cap necklaces & keychains that we made and a CD with some of Madi’s favorite songs on it.
All of the girls (and of course Madi) had such a great time…they were so darling and just loved the new Barbie The Princess & The Popstar movie. I’ve already been told by a couple of moms that their daughters now want them to buy the movie and dolls. Not surprising!

]]>We’ve had a lot of boy parties on the blog lately…the Mickey Mouse party, the Star Wars party and Friday Logan’s Soccer party so today I’m featuring a totally girly party! I absolutely adore this beautiful yellow & white high tea party that Toni at Fairydust Stylish Stationery designed for her daughter Chloe’s 12th birthday! The fun colors just make me happy!
There are so many little details that I absolutely love…the first being those lovely yellow and white polka dot umbrellas used for the backdrop on the dessert table – adorable!
Details of the dessert table included gorgeous cookies, candy bars wrapped in coordinating printables, vanilla mousse cups tied with a personalized wooden spoon, lots of fun candies in glass jars and a lovely cake in the shape of a cupcake with yellow daisy and butterfly embellishments.
Beautiful napkin ring holders were used to embellish the milk bottle drinks and are just stunning!
The main seating table is beautifully decorated with a yellow and white striped table runner, a white antique bird cage as the centerpiece and lovely yellow flowers arranged in white containers. Cupcakes with matching wrappers and flags were displayed on simple white cake stands and the white paper butterfly chandelier is the perfect accent.
Guests were given some wonderful favors (including Chloe perfume!) which where packaged in these darling lunchbox-style carrying cases coordinated with the other party printables.
The side table included a few more food items and goodies for the girls to enjoy.
The tissue paper poms and yellow polka dot lanterns are a wonderful way to decorate the party area and the white paper butterflies throughout the party are just the perfect touch.
Absolutely beautiful, Toni – thanks so much for letting us share with our wonderful readers!

]]>I’ve been DYING to to share this party with you and I’m SO excited to finally post it! It’s a little late because I just got back from being on vacation in Jackson Hole for a week AND I entered the party in a contest over at the amazing entertaining website, Pizzazzerie and we had to wait until the winners were announced before posting the designs on our own blogs. And No, I didn’t win
I decided I wanted to have a party for my son Jackson and his friends to celebrate the end of school/beginning of summer. We live in Utah so we’re nowhere near a beach, but I wanted that theme because when I think of summer, I think of the beach! And, my 8 year old LOVES sharks, so I thought we could use both ideas for the overall design. I found an invitation on Etsy designed by Sarah at Chachke Designs that was exactly what I was looking for – I seriously loved it!
I came up with the idea of having surfboards for the backdrop of the dessert table and thought I could easily make them out of cardboard. My husband quickly responded that cardboard simply wouldn’t work and that we needed to make them out of wood. So that’s what we did! We cut 8 foot tall surfboards out of plywood with a jigsaw and then painted them fun stripes in the colors I had decided on for the party…orange, blue and green. Most of the paint came from the ‘reject’ paint cart at Home Depot, so it was really cheap! They took a little time to make, but I thought they turned out GREAT!
For the main table, I used a white tablecloth with a simple blue net as an overlay to give it more of a beachy feel and created the “Hit the Beach” banner out of scrapbook paper. I couldn’t find printables to match the theme/colors exactly, so I created the dessert labels myself using a digital paper design. But, Sarah (who made the invitation) now has matching printables, so you can order everything for your party from her!
For the center of the dessert table, I filled my apothecary jars with candy in the same 3 colors, with striped ribbon to match…orange slices, peach gummy bears, gummy sharks, cotton candy, blue raspberry jelly beans, green apple licorice and lime taffy. The kids took home a treat bag filled with whatever candies they wanted from the table.
For the desserts, I went to my wonderful cake designer, Sprinklebelle Cakes, for some fondant surfboard and shark cupcakes. I sent her a picture of the surfboards and just told her to make something that matched the colors, and as usual, I absolutely LOVED them!
Push pops are all the rage lately and I knew I wanted to use them in my table. I created layers of orange, green and blue jello in the push pops with a gummy shark in the blue layer. The pushpops were displayed in fun green cardboard suitcases.
I found plastic shot glasses in the exact colors of my party at Dollar Tree and knew I had to use them for something…M&M shots is what I came up with – the kids thought they were great!
I also had a local lady make the wonderful shark and surfboard sugar cookies with buttercream frosting and they were as yummy as they look! The details of the sharks were just amazing!
I had another small table to hold the party food…hot dogs, chips, fruit, nutter butter flip flop cookies, drinks and paper products.
This kids played outside with water balloons, big squirt guns and raced on the slip-n-slide until it got too cold to be outside anymore.
The weather wasn’t exactly perfect for an outside water party. You may have noticed the dessert table was set up INSIDE the house with the lanterns on the floor…about an hour before the party started, as I was setting up the dessert table outside, it became really windy and a huge gust of wind knocked EVERYTHING over…ladder, table, surfboards and all!! Luckily I hadn’t put anything except the tablecloth on the table yet! I had to move the table inside and thanks to some wonderful friends and family we got it set up inside the house, just in time! I guess that’s what you get for June in Utah – you just never know!!
A big thank you to the always amazing Laura Sheneman for capturing photos of everything!!
