Winter Wonderland 9th Birthday

January 21, 2014 by [email protected] 11 Comments

Winter Wonderland party desserts

Today I’m sharing a Winter Wonderland birthday party I put together for a client whose daughter was turning 9. The party was held at a local ice rink so all the girls ice skated and had a great time! The color scheme we chose was aqua, silver and white – perfect for a winter wonderland party.

Winter Wonderland welcome sign

To welcome all the guests to the party, I had an easel displaying this welcome sign to direct them to the party room. I forgot to take a picture of the large sign, but here’s what it looked like.

Winter Wonderland snowflake tree centerpiece

In the party room we had a long island where all the food, desserts and a hot cocoa bar were set up. In the center of the island I placed a glass vase filled with aqua and silver ornaments. White tree branches with silver and aqua snowflakes were placed in the vase for some height.

A small cake and chocolate cupcakes in coordinating aqua, silver and white were served to the guests.

I used my Silhouette machine to create a snowflake banner that said “Hailey’s Winter Wonderland” which was strung across the front of the island.

A hot cocoa bar was set up for the girls to warm up with after the ice skating activity.  Kraft covered drinking cups were embellished with ribbon and snowflake stickers. The girls could choose from mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, crushed peppermint and Pirouette cookies to add to their hot cocoa. Little tags were added to the wooden scoops for an extra touch.

Winter Wonderland chocolate fountain

The birthday girl requested a chocolate fountain that grandma had and the girls could choose different fruits and cookies to dip into the fountain – they loved this!

Winter Wonderland birthday party favors

Each of the guests took home a white mug filled with a packet of hot cocoa, taffy and a chocolate dipped spoon.

Here’s a picture of the chocolate dipped spoons before they were packaged up and placed in the favor bags. 🙂

Hi Dorine, thanks for stopping by! I don’t remember where I got the glass vase, but try Hobby Lobby or Walmart; the sticks are from my yard that I spray painted white; the ornaments and snowflakes are from Target & Walmart and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. Good luck!

Do you have a template for the welcome sign you’d be willing to share. Having a “Winter ONEderland” 1st birthday party for our daughter, and this would work perfect.

Thanks Lindsay! I made the dipped spoons using wooden spoons that I got at my local party supply store and then just used melted milk chocolate, dipped the spoons in the chocolate and added the snowflake sprinkles while the chocolate was still warm so they would stick 🙂
