I hope you all are having a wonderful 4th of July!! I’m excited to share a new post with you about a baby shower I planned for the sister-in-law of one of my really good friends, Michelle…this is what I was working on last week! The shower was held on Saturday at her aunt’s house. They invited 25 friends and relatives to celebrate the upcoming arrival of the first baby girl for Ashley!
We decided that a chic Paris-inspired pink and black damask theme would be appropriate for the mother-to-be. I ordered customizable printables from Paper Party Passion on Etsy that came with the invitation, banner, buffet cards, circle tags, signs and note cards.
I hung the ribbon embellished ‘Congratulations Ashley’ banner over the fireplace in the family room where the guests were sitting. First everyone ate yummy pasta, salad and bread from Cheesecake Factory served in pewter dishes – delicious! They played the Celebrity Baby Name game created by Kim at Crafty Girl Creationz, and The Price is Right using baby items.
The fun Paris mugs were filled with beautiful pink roses and served as both party decorations and as prizes for the games. The damask paper pad and pen sets were also prizes. I found both the mugs and paper pads at TJMaxx.
Then the guests opened gifts and ate dessert. I used a black table cloth with pink, black and white cake plates and glass domed pedestals adorned with ribbon to display all of the desserts. A pink and white striped box with an eiffel tower on top was the centerpiece of the table.
My amazing friend Laura made the to-die-for desserts – don’t they look wonderful??!! The red velvet cakes bites with chocolate fleur-de-lis and the ‘Petit Bebe’ shortbread cookies were my favorite! But everything else was fabulous as well…she made apple turnovers, french macarons, mini pound cakes, chocolate shortbread cookies with a chocolate dipped strawberry on top, lemon tarts, strawberry napoleons and palmiers. WOW!! Everyone raved about the desserts. One lady said she thought she had just stepped into a French Pastry Shop! 🙂
We also had a drink area where guests could choose from homemade Strawberry Lemonade served in clear plastic glasses with pink and white striped straws, water bottles with printable pink and white striped labels, or red wine served in glasses adorned with damask wine glass slippers. The printable wine glass slippers were purchased from Brigitte at The Posh Event, and were used to prevent drinks from getting mixed up.
The guests took home custom onesie sugar cookies that I ordered from Jen at All Things Exquisite. I was SO EXCITED to find someone here locally that makes these royal icing cookies!! I can’t wait to order more for the next party and Jen was great to work with!
Here’s a few more pictures of the favor table and prizes.
This shower was a lot of fun to plan…I just love the chic Paris theme! I hope you enjoyed it and if you would like something similar, for your next baby or wedding shower, let me know…I’d love to help!

I love this theme. . You rocked this Paris style theme. I’m giving a baby shower for my first Grand and I want this theme. . Where did you get the eiffel towers from?
Holly - Paisley Petal Events says
Hi Keisha,
Thank you! I found the large black eiffel tower at Pier 1 a couple of years ago, but you could check to see if they still sell them. Or maybe even do a search on Amazon.com to see if they have something similar. Have fun with the shower!
