So here’s another party I put together last year that I’m finally sharing today! This one was a fun orange and aqua 40th birthday party for one of my close friends. Her husband secretly asked me to help him decorate for a surprise party for his wife, my darling friend. The party was held in a hotel room up in Park City where he had invited about 10 couples to come up and spend the weekend celebrating with them. He totally pulled it off and she had no clue – it was awesome!
We chose an orange and aqua color palette to reflect my beautiful friend’s personality – fun and energetic – just like her! I used a white tablecloth with some fun aqua wrapping paper as a table runner and base for the dessert table. A simple white cake with an orange ombre chevron pattern was the center of the table with vases of bright orange gerbera daisies flanking each side.
Gorgeous orange and aqua chevron sugar cookies and yummy bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes (my friend’s fave!) were included on the dessert table, along with a collection of orange, aqua and white candies to choose from.
I added big 2 foot balloons with tissue tassel streamers along with groupings of tissue poms and lanterns around the party area for some fun pops of color around the room. And let’s not forget the always needed Happy Birthday banner! 😉
I had a great time creating this fun party for my darling friend without her knowing!
