Amazing Graduation Dessert Table

June 20, 2011 by [email protected] 51 Comments

Hello friends, I’m sorry it’s been so long since I posted, things have been CRAZY around here.  I keep thinking things will be less busy now that summer’s here, but I don’t know if that’s going to be the case!

So about a month ago, my cute friend Toni e-mailed me and said she needed a little help coming up with some ideas for her son’s graduation party….of course I was excited to help!  I starting looking at my favorite party blogs for some graduation inspiration and I remembered seeing a graduation dessert table by the AMAZING Paula of Frog Prince Paperie, that was wonderful.  All of her parties are just to die for!  Here’s a picture of Paula’s dessert table.  I loved all of her ideas, but the push pops with caps and light bulbs were my favorite!

I was so excited because at the end of her blog post about the table, Paula mentioned that the printables also came in red and black…what are the odds!!??  Red and black are the colors of the high school Toni’s son went to AND the colors for the college that he’ll be attending!  We got the printables ordered and the rest was up to Toni – she did everything else!

Here’s the pictures that I took right before the guests started to arrive.  I’m apologizing in advance for the photos because as you know, I am NOT a photographer.  It was so amazing!  I couldn’t believe all of the work Toni had done – she did such a GREAT job!

Here is the dessert table with all of the amazing treats for the 75+ guests to enjoy!

There were so many fun desserts, so I’ll break it down for you now…first the oreo cheesecake push pops (yum!) made using the stickers from the Frog Prince Paperie printables as well as the cute caps idea from Paula’s table.  They are so darling!

oreo cheesecake pops

Next, the graduation caps made from Reese’s peanut butter cups, Ghiradelli chocolates, licorice and red hots…again so dang cute!

I thought these cookies were SO fun – I loved all of the designs and bright colors!

red white and black cookies

I love the class rings and diploma’s – so creative!!

Here are the marshmallow pops dipped in red candy melts and crushed oreos.

Love the mini Hershey’s candy bars wrapped in the coordinating designs to match!

The yummy cupcake tower with printable toppers.

And finally the candy jars and personalized water bottles.

It was all just amazing and it turned out PERFECT!  Thanks for letting me help, Toni!!

      Thanks Cheryl! Here’s the recipe:
      Oreo Cheesecake Recipe

1 package oreo cookies (16.6 oz), divided
      1/4 cup butter, melted
4 packages (8 oz each) Cream Cheese, softened
      3/4 Cup Sugar
      1 tsp vanilla
1 8 oz. tub cool whip, thawed

Chop 15 cookies coarsley. Finely crush remaining cookies; mix with butter. (This is what you will put in the bottom of the push up pops.
Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Gently stir in Cool Whip and finely chopped ( I put the cookies in the blender to chop). Put this on top of your crust in the push up pop.

Recipe should fill 20 push up pops.

Thanks for stopping by Anna! I would go to Etsy.com and do a search for push pops…you should find quite a few people selling them. You can get them a little cheaper from Amazon.com but you have to buy them in larger quantities. Have fun!

They’re made from Pepperidge Farm pirouette cookies (that you can buy at the grocery store) tied with a red ribbon – super easy!

      Hi Donna,
To make the banners, you purchase the printable digital files from Frog Prince Paperie on Etsy. Here’s a link to the listing:
      https://www.etsy.com/listing/72254634/graduation-class-of-2012-diy-printable
The digital files will be sent to you, then you print them at home or at a copy store, cut them out, string them together with ribbon and hang!

Thanks Angela, Toni did a fabulous job! Yes, you will need something to hold the chocolate square to the peanut butter cup…you could use frosting, or melted candy/chocolate or even karo syrup would probably work.

Love the decorated cookies. What type of cookie did you use? What did you use for frosting? And how long do you think I could store the cookies before the party? I’ve got too many last minute things so I’m trying to find some items to prepare ahead of time.

They are a sugar cookie base and we ordered them from a local person – they are decorated with royal icing. I’ve ordered royal icing cookies and they have lasted for a few days if stored in a tightly sealed container or individually wrapped bags.

There were 3 red & white striped plastic cups turned upside down with a red round cardboard box from IKEA that the cake sat on. The U’s were for the college he was going to attend after graduation – University of Utah.

      Hi Zaudi,
I usually take them to Office Depot or a similar place to have them printed, just because I like the way they look a little better, but if you don’t have too many to do, you could certainly do them at home!
