Hello friends, I’m sorry it’s been so long since I posted, things have been CRAZY around here. I keep thinking things will be less busy now that summer’s here, but I don’t know if that’s going to be the case!
So about a month ago, my cute friend Toni e-mailed me and said she needed a little help coming up with some ideas for her son’s graduation party….of course I was excited to help! I starting looking at my favorite party blogs for some graduation inspiration and I remembered seeing a graduation dessert table by the AMAZING Paula of Frog Prince Paperie, that was wonderful. All of her parties are just to die for! Here’s a picture of Paula’s dessert table. I loved all of her ideas, but the push pops with caps and light bulbs were my favorite!
I was so excited because at the end of her blog post about the table, Paula mentioned that the printables also came in red and black…what are the odds!!?? Red and black are the colors of the high school Toni’s son went to AND the colors for the college that he’ll be attending! We got the printables ordered and the rest was up to Toni – she did everything else!
Here’s the pictures that I took right before the guests started to arrive. I’m apologizing in advance for the photos because as you know, I am NOT a photographer. It was so amazing! I couldn’t believe all of the work Toni had done – she did such a GREAT job!
Here is the dessert table with all of the amazing treats for the 75+ guests to enjoy!
There were so many fun desserts, so I’ll break it down for you now…first the oreo cheesecake push pops (yum!) made using the stickers from the Frog Prince Paperie printables as well as the cute caps idea from Paula’s table. They are so darling!
Next, the graduation caps made from Reese’s peanut butter cups, Ghiradelli chocolates, licorice and red hots…again so dang cute!
I thought these cookies were SO fun – I loved all of the designs and bright colors!
I love the class rings and diploma’s – so creative!!
Here are the marshmallow pops dipped in red candy melts and crushed oreos.
Love the mini Hershey’s candy bars wrapped in the coordinating designs to match!
The yummy cupcake tower with printable toppers.
And finally the candy jars and personalized water bottles.
It was all just amazing and it turned out PERFECT! Thanks for letting me help, Toni!!

Cheryl says
Fabulous ideas! What a creative dessert table! How did you guys do the oreo cheesecake for the push pops? I want to do some for my friends black and white party this weekend. Can you share recipe or directions? Thanks!
Holly says
Thanks Cheryl! Here’s the recipe:
Oreo Cheesecake Recipe
1 package oreo cookies (16.6 oz), divided
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 packages (8 oz each) Cream Cheese, softened
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 8 oz. tub cool whip, thawed
Chop 15 cookies coarsley. Finely crush remaining cookies; mix with butter. (This is what you will put in the bottom of the push up pops.
Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Gently stir in Cool Whip and finely chopped ( I put the cookies in the blender to chop). Put this on top of your crust in the push up pop.
Recipe should fill 20 push up pops.
Anna says
Love your ideas. Where can I get the push pops container. Thanks your ideas are great.
Holly says
Thanks for stopping by Anna! I would go to Etsy.com and do a search for push pops…you should find quite a few people selling them. You can get them a little cheaper from Amazon.com but you have to buy them in larger quantities. Have fun!
Macy says
Sooo cute 🙂 where can you get all of those cute wrappers? Like the water bottle wrappers, candy bar wrappers, and stickers? I loveeee them 🙂
Holly says
Hi Macy! We ordered it all from Frog Prince Paperie on Etsy. Here is a link to the listing and there’s other colors to choose from, or she can customize them for your school colors. So fun!! https://www.etsy.com/listing/72254634/graduation-class-of-2012-diy-printable

Can you tell me where I can get the CONGRATULATIONS pennants and the “U” letters that are shown on the graduation picture above….the red and black? Thanks
Holly says
Hi Vera! We ordered the banner from Frog Prince Paperie…here’s the listing in her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/72254634/graduation-class-of-2012-diy-printable
I believe the U letters were cut using a Cricut machine.
Emily says
How did you make the cake diplomas?
Holly says
Hi Emily,
They’re made from Pepperidge Farm pirouette cookies (that you can buy at the grocery store) tied with a red ribbon – super easy!
donna says
How do you make congratulations pendant banners? Thanks
Holly says
Hi Donna,
To make the banners, you purchase the printable digital files from Frog Prince Paperie on Etsy. Here’s a link to the listing:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/72254634/graduation-class-of-2012-diy-printable
The digital files will be sent to you, then you print them at home or at a copy store, cut them out, string them together with ribbon and hang!

Good luck with the party!
Shannon says
Can you tell me where you found all of your glass ware? To put all the candy and stuff in? It rocks.
Holly says
Hi Shannon! Yes, I have bought them at various places…like Michaels craft store, HomeGoods, and TJMaxx.
Heather says
hello! I love this! And it’s given me some wonderful
ideas for an upcoming grad party.
Question. . . how many cupcakes did the holder contain?
Was it a wire holder?
THANKS!
Holly says
Hi Heather! I’m glad you are able to get some fun ideas for your party! The holder held 36 cupcakes and yes, it was a wire-type holder that I believe Toni got from Costco a few years ago.
Cynthia says
Hi I just wanted to say you did such a beautiful job you are gifted
Holly says
Thanks Cynthia, but I can’t take the credit…my friend Toni did everything…I just gave her some ideas and she took it from there! 🙂
melissa says
Love your ideas, my son is graduating this year and I had no idea what to do. Thanks, your a lifesaver. Do you have any ideas for a baby shower?
Holly says
Thanks Melissa, I’m glad I could give you some ideas!
Angela says
What a great party! How did you assemble the reese’s graduation caps? Did you use frosting or does the stick go all the way through?
Holly says
Thanks Angela, Toni did a fabulous job! Yes, you will need something to hold the chocolate square to the peanut butter cup…you could use frosting, or melted candy/chocolate or even karo syrup would probably work.
N says
Love the decorated cookies. What type of cookie did you use? What did you use for frosting? And how long do you think I could store the cookies before the party? I’ve got too many last minute things so I’m trying to find some items to prepare ahead of time.
Holly - Paisley Petal Events says
They are a sugar cookie base and we ordered them from a local person – they are decorated with royal icing. I’ve ordered royal icing cookies and they have lasted for a few days if stored in a tightly sealed container or individually wrapped bags.
mary says
Hi can you please tell me what you use for the cake plate, and what did the U’s stand for, thank you so much
Holly - Paisley Petal Events says
There were 3 red & white striped plastic cups turned upside down with a red round cardboard box from IKEA that the cake sat on. The U’s were for the college he was going to attend after graduation – University of Utah.
Beth says
Love your graduation table. My son is graduating this year and I wanted to know where the labels for the push pops came from?(red and black)
Holly - Paisley Petal Events says
Hi Beth,
Here’s a link to the shop on Etsy where the printable circles were purchased from: https://www.etsy.com/listing/72267739/graduation-class-of-2013-2-inch-custom?ref=shop_home_active
Zaudi says
Hi, I love the decoration! I just bought the printable from Etsy. Did you print them at home or did you take them somewhere else? The color in the candy wrappers look awesome! Thanks!
Holly - Paisley Petal Events says
Hi Zaudi,
I usually take them to Office Depot or a similar place to have them printed, just because I like the way they look a little better, but if you don’t have too many to do, you could certainly do them at home!
Zaudi says
Thank you!
Tonya says
How did u make the pixy sticks with the letters?
Holly - Paisley Petal Events says
I just attached the red letters to the pixy sticks with glue dots.
